Invitation to Enroll for Religious Faith Formation Classes
and Confirmation Preparation Classes
Eligibility:
* Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in High School, 2010-2011, AND 15 years or older by January 1, 2011
* Baptized
* Enrolled for regular Religious Faith Formation Classes starting in September for the 2010-2011 school year. NOTE: When you enroll for Religious Faith Formation Classes, you are automatically enrolled for Confirmation Preparation.
Three Ways to Enroll:
* Come by the Parish Office and fill out a registration form
* Pick up a registration form at church (in the rack by the bathrooms) and either take it by the office or mail it in
* NEW THIS YEAR – REGISTER ONLINE. Go to the church website, www.stjudecc.org, and click on Youth Ministry. Go to Documents and fill out the registration. Don’t forget to send in your $40 per family registration fee.
Orientation:
There will be an orientation meeting for parents of Confirmation students on Sunday, September 19, or Wednesday, September 22, to be held in the auditorium during regular Religious Faith Formation class times.
Confirmation Classes:
Confirmation Classes will be held separately from the regular Religious Faith Formation Classes. Classes will begin in January, 2011 and conclude in April, 2011. There will be a total of seven (7) classes including two classes for both parents and students. You must continue attending both Religious Faith Formation and Confirmation Preparation Classes. All Confirmation Preparation classes will be held in the St. Jude Center on Sunday afternoons, 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Confirmation Retreat:
There will be a Confirmation Retreat on March 12 & 13, 2011, to be held at the Salvation Army Camp Hoblitzelle in Midlothian. All confirmation candidates must attend a retreat. Please make every effort to attend this one. If you are unable to, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can find another parish retreat for you to attend.
Mass Attendance:
All students are expected to attend Mass regularly. Beginning in September, a sign-in book will be available after Mass for each student to initial to indicate that they were present. If you attend Mass at another church, please bring a copy of their weekend bulletin.
